This Micro-Credential focuses on the physical installation of Photovoltaic (PV) equipment and consists of two online sessions and a full-day hands-on session. For the first session, students will review the various components that make up a PV Array, will learn about fall and electrical safety hazards, and prepare a standard PV installation safety plan. For the second session, students will learn best installation practices and tips for different roof types. Proper planning to reduce wasted time and effort will be emphasized. The final session will be at Camosun’s Clean Energy and Efficient Buildings (CEEB) Lab space, where students will assemble PV systems on both flat and sloped roof mock-ups.
